The Great Library of Tomorrow: Special Package Edition

The Great Library of Tomorrow – Het Boek der Wijsheid marks an important new chapter in Tomorrowland’s storytelling universe. Published in Dutch by Standaard Uitgeverij in 2024, the novel is the first volume of Tomorrowland’s three-part The Book of Wisdom fantasy series, bringing the mythology, values and imaginative worlds associated with the festival into a full-length fantasy adventure.

This special package edition from Standaard Uitgeverij expands the book into a particularly attractive Tomorrowland collectible. As shown in the photographs, the set combines the Dutch hardcover novel with a large illustrated premium bookmark and a natural-coloured reusable tote bag decorated with The Great Library of Tomorrow artwork. Standaard Uitgeverij officially describes the package as a “Luxe-editie” containing the book, premium bookmark and sustainable tote bag.

The visual presentation closely follows the distinctive aesthetic of the novel. The white hardcover features the dramatic winged creature artwork with black, grey and metallic-gold detailing, a design repeated on the oversized bookmark. The accompanying fabric bag carries additional fantasy illustrations and The Great Library of Tomorrow typography, making the complete package much more display-worthy than the standard book edition.

The story

The novel takes readers into Paperworld, a collection of magical realms connected through portals within the Great Library and guided by the mysterious Book of Wisdom. At its centre is Helia, the Sage of Hope, one of the chosen Sages entrusted with protecting humanity’s values. After Helia and Xavier, the Sage of Truth, are attacked in the Rose Garden of Silvyra by the deadly Ash Man, she returns to the Great Library only to discover that the Book of Wisdom has fallen ominously silent. What follows is a journey through Tomorrowland’s fantasy universe in search of the truth behind the growing threat.

Tomorrowland describes the series as a portal-fantasy adventure built around themes including adventure, friendship, unity and the protection of values such as hope, love and creativity. The project extends years of Tomorrowland world-building beyond the festival grounds and into a connected literary universe.
