The Key to Happiness – Treasure Case 2014

Created for Tomorrowland 2014 – The Key to Happiness, this Treasure Case accompanied the festival’s landmark 10th-anniversary edition. The 2014 celebration was especially significant: Tomorrowland expanded to two weekends for the first time, on 18–20 and 25–27 July.

The case translates the Key to Happiness theme into an elaborate mechanical design. Its dark exterior is covered with aged-looking details and a large central arrangement of gears, cogs and a keyhole, closely echoing the rotating machinery and sprockets used throughout the 2014 Mainstage design.

The photographed set includes the decorated Treasure Case, the green patterned 2014 Tomorrowland bracelet, a large ornamental key and printed inserts, including the card carrying the words “Unlock Divine Happiness.” Inside, the bracelet sits in a fitted black compartment beside a decorative cut-out panel. Contemporary collector documentation of this case notes that this interior cut-out was originally designed to illuminate.
